Repetition with Purpose
Elizabeth Shea, February 2, 2026
As a big fan of Groundhog Day, Feb 2nd always makes me think about patterns and how I am on a sort of “loop” in my daily life. I was thinking about that this morning while I was getting ready (and yes, I was listening to the Ned Ryerson scene at the same time LOL😄).
But it actually made me wonder whether there is a way to use this daily looping thing more intentionally and in a positive way? In other words, what if I treat repetition not as something to escape, but as a tool to become a better advocate for vulnerable populations, more thoughtful to my colleagues, and a kinder human in general?
The bottom line is that small actions, repeated consistently, create momentum. And over time, positive choices form a loop too. So, every time I listen before reacting, speak up when it matters, and choose kindness first, I can be building a better daily loop for myself.
Happy Groundhog Day friends and colleagues! I’ll keep working on building a better loop: learning piano, saving the kid, & avoiding the puddle, and hopefully the alarm clock will eventually play something other than “I Got You Babe!”
